St. Joseph County

The county is named after the St. Joseph River, which runs through it.  The river then is named after Joseph, husband of St. Mary, the mother of Jesus.  South Bend is the largest city and also the County Seat.  Probably most well known for the University of Notre Dame and it’s famed “Touchdown Jesus”, the city is also notable for the Studebaker National Museum, the Riverwalk Mishawaka and the East Race Waterway and the Chocolate factory tours (which are delicious), The Potawatomi Zoo, and so much more!
