Fountain County
Fountain County is located in West Central Indiana and was established in 1816. The major towns are Covington, which is the county seat, Veedersburg, Hillsboro and Attica. Mostly agricultural, the County is covered with beautiful farms along with and many old structures of barns, corn cribs and silos. The County’s Western and Northern border is the Wabash River. Along the Wabash near the tiny town of Fountain, is the Portland Arch Nature Preserve. As with several of Indiana’s counties, there is a lot of early history to be found in Fountain, if you will just take a little time to look. The interior of the courthouse in Covington is not to be missed!
